After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Sandro Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandro Negri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Válbson Pernambucano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute Cássio Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flávio Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvinho Custódio in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Falcão in the 23rd minute of play forced Botinho FC's goalkeeper Flávio Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Negri couldn't finish the play.

The wind increased when Silvinho Custódio made the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes of play, Botinho FC's Bar Beiro made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Válbson Pernambucano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Parnagua AD's Umberto Berger got a free kick in the 59th minute. Sandro Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Parnagua AD's Silvinho Custódio in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Botinho FC's goalie prevented a goal. Botinho FC's Flávio Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Mazza in the 71st minute of play. But to his dismay, Silvinho Custódio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. In the 94th minute, Luís Guilherme Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Botinho FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
