The throw-in from Vicente Valladares in the 11th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C.A Gryffindor's Bill Bill. When Carlos Alberto Soares got free in front of the goal in the 16th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Cássio Corinth was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 25th minute Walmir Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Corinth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Alberto Soares in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cássio Corinth saved C.A Gryffindor from getting behind. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when C.A Gryffindor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomé de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 minutes of play, Catugi FC's Carlos Alberto Soares made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio Corinth was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Walmir Pombal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cássio Corinth was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. In the 33rdth minute of the game Walmir Pombal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A Gryffindor's Cássio Corinth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Brian Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reko Nybacka. That made the score 1-1 in the 36 minute of play. C.A Gryffindor's Bill Bill managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vicente Valladares in the 38 minute of the game. Walmir Pombal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cássio Corinth having to make a save. Bill Bill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brian Montenegro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jaime França kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 58th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Pimenta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Cássio Corinth made a huge save. Walmir Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Cássio Corinth made a huge save. After 69 minutes of play, C.A Gryffindor's Denílson Lopes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reko Nybacka was left in no man's land by his defense there! C.A Gryffindor made a substitution. Marcelinho Leme replaced Bill Bill. Cássio Corinth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Cássio Corinth successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vedillo Quijano in the 89th minute of play. If Carlos Alberto Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes of play, C.A Gryffindor's Dennis Bergkamp made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reko Nybacka was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 97th minute C.A Gryffindor were awarded a corner. Vedillo Quijano went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led C.A Gryffindor's Vedillo Quijano to fire away a dangerous shot which Reko Nybacka despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. C.A Gryffindor had won after a very even match.
