The supporters of Real Mente Burro booed when Monte Olimpo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Real Mente Burro's Roberto Simão shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 4th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nicolas Varela but with some difficulty. Nicolas Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Tavares in the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute of the match Real Mente Burro got a corner. Monte Olimpo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roberto Simão ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Martin Bonnici got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nicolas Varela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Real Mente Burro's George Apelqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cauã Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipo Inzaghi in the 16th minute of the match. George Apelqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Apelqvist in the 18th minute of play forced Monte Olimpo's goalkeeper Nicolas Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Real Mente Burro's goal looked a bit too open when Dacian Barbăneagră came free, but Cauã Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Mente Burro's goalkeeper Cauã Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicolas Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Nóbrega in the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Apelqvist in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolas Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cauã Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pipo Inzaghi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when George Apelqvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Apelqvist in the 53rd minute of play forced Monte Olimpo's goalkeeper Nicolas Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Roberto Simão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicolas Varela was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 78 minutes into the game, Bogdan Mierzwa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Mente Burro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monte Olimpo the free kick. Nicolas Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 87th minute Matías Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Real Mente Burro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Cauã Lopes, was totally fooled by Monte Olimpo's Zé Roberto Grimaldo, who 98 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
