Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Fernando Goiano could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Franklin Montenegro however easily saved by the left post. Alexandre Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Franklin Montenegro made a huge save. Nelson Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 24th minute of the match, Jeronimo Sagrario tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Franklin Montenegro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Ronaldinho Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Clemente Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franklin Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandre Souto went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 74 minutes into the game, Alexandre Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Franklin Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, Glauco Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC São José fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Franklin Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeronimo Sagrario in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th match minute, A.D Garotos do Vale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betinho Senna to maneuver through the defense.
