An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Souto in the 5th minute of play forced APOCALIPSE's goalkeeper Léo Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fernando Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Léo Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 minutes of play, EC São José's Alexandre Souto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Léo Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Léo Vergílio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeronimo Sagrario went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 16th minute Glauco Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Alexandre Souto made a precise shot to the right of Léo Vergílio. APOCALIPSE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 0-4 became the score in the 21st minute when Alexandre Souto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 26th minute Glauco Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, EC São José's Glauco Carneiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Léo Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Alexandre Souto notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of APOCALIPSE's Léo Vergílio. Léo Vergílio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to EC São José getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Glauco Carneiro hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, Alexandre Souto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léo Vergílio. APOCALIPSE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Souto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Léo Vergílio came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by EC São José's Luiz Fernando Goiano. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando Goiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. The supporters of APOCALIPSE booed when EC São José was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half EC São José were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Alexandre Souto made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of EC São José booed when APOCALIPSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jeronimo Sagrario managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC São José's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeronimo Sagrario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Glauco Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diogo Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Maignan having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Luiz Fernando Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Fernando Goiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Léo Vergílio made a huge save. Mike Maignan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute APOCALIPSE were awarded a corner. Francisco da Costa went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Francisco da Costa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but EC São José's Mike Maignan did a great save. Alexandre Souto took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Léo Vergílio. Léo Vergílio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Alexandre Souto came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Léo Vergílio could save by the left post. Glauco Carneiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Léo Vergílio came out and tried to block the shot, but Glauco Carneiro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 80th minute. Glauco Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Glauco Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Diogo Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Glauco Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. EC São José played a much better game than APOCALIPSE and deserved their victory. The APOCALIPSE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
