Luisinho Queirós came out of the goal and Carlos Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisinho Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Paiva's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. If Jaime Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavinho Hermes in the 21st minute of play forced Londrina's goalkeeper Edvaldo Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Jaime Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ian de Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Edvaldo Medeiros made a huge save. After 44 played minutes Londrina got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Porto. After the first half Londrina were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 50th match minute, Londrina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Paiva hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Flavinho Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Jaime Paiva took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Luisinho Queirós to make any attempt to save it. With his leg Luisinho Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Londrina's Jaime Paiva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 64 minutes, Jaime Paiva made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Luzeiro's Luisinho Queirós tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The long shot by Horácio Loureiro in the 67th minute really tested Luisinho Queirós's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Edvaldo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavinho Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Gonçalo Guerra's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Luisinho Queirós skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
