João Pedro Eger scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogelio Thomas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th minute Délio de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Abel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sedex F.C booed when Catanduvense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Siro Abel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio de Barros in the 18th minute of play. Siro Abel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulinho Afonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 21 minutes Sedex F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gugu Araújo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gugu Araújo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Siro Abel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Catanduvense FC's Rogelio Thomas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Catanduvense FC from getting a goal against them. Siro Abel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 40 played minutes Sedex F.C got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Sena. Rogelio Thomas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson Dracena in the 45th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Catanduvense FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Eger came free, but Rogelio Thomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 48 played minutes Sedex F.C got a freekick which was hit by Norman Bush. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Siro Abel was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Alfredo do Nascimento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alfredo do Nascimento really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. If Alfredo do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rogelio Thomas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Tiago Gabriel Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Thomas having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Sedex F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo do Nascimento came free, but Siro Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute João Pedro Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Thomas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sedex F.C's Ernani Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Dracena in the 81st minute of play forced Catanduvense FC's goalkeeper Rogelio Thomas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sedex F.C defense, Délio de Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Siro Abel. The Sedex F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Siro Abel should have stopped the shot. Catanduvense FC's Rogelio Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Eger in the 87th minute of play. With a little luck, Sedex F.C's Siro Abel got control of the ball when Claes Backman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Laerte Matorin charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laerte Matorin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sedex F.C's João Pedro Eger got a free kick in the 91st minute. Siro Abel made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Délio de Barros sent off a good shot on target. Délio de Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Siro Abel made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hílton Soares during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
