After taking down the ball on PERNA DE PAU SC's corner Ian Amorim fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benjamim Mendes quite easily take care of the ball. Farroupilha FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruben Paz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half PERNA DE PAU SC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edu Gomes was the one to do the kick off. João Pedro Vaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamim Mendes having to make a save. 61 minutes into the match, Ronaldão Loureiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benjamim Mendes.
