Jean Neto started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Warsaw Cowal got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Gaspar. Warsaw Cowal's Carlos Fernando Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Neiva in the 3rd minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, RIO CLUBE REGATAS's Tony Neiva tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When RIO CLUBE REGATAS's Giuseppe de Mendonça in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Warsaw Cowal's goalie prevented a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Jonathan Araújo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Warsaw Cowal's Carlos Fernando Dionísio. Carlos Fernando Dionísio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giuseppe de Mendonça in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Fernando Dionísio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mário Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When Giuseppe de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the RIO CLUBE REGATAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giuseppe de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. If Jonathan Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Fernando Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjell Vassenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Leif Ferm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 56th play minutes Kjell Vassenius shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Carlos Fernando Dionísio and just under the crossbar into goal. Sílvio Gaspar was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, RIO CLUBE REGATAS's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Neto came free, but André Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto de Godoi in the 65th minute of play forced RIO CLUBE REGATAS's goalkeeper André Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Giuseppe de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Jean Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Fernando Dionísio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Giuseppe de Mendonça showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 72 minute of play. Warsaw Cowal made a substitution. Sílvio Luiz Miranda replaced Gilberto de Godoi. Carlos Fernando Dionísio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. With his leg Carlos Fernando Dionísio managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when RIO CLUBE REGATAS's Giuseppe de Mendonça fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Carlos Fernando Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Ferm in the 86th minute of play. Tony Neiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando Dionísio made a huge save. André Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robinho Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Gernando Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. RIO CLUBE REGATAS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
