Przemyslaw Indyk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alfonso Taraborrelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Kauan Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Przemyslaw Indyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute Édouard Deloge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Przemyslaw Indyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilmar Miranda's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alfonso Taraborrelli firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in BOTAFOGO's zone, Paulão Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Taraborrelli came out of the goal and Paulão Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilmar Miranda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Alfonso Taraborrelli when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alfonso Taraborrelli was a little too slow when Paulão Dionísio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-1. Jaanek Oese hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Przemyslaw Indyk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Édouard Deloge went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 35 minutes into the match, Nilmar Miranda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfonso Taraborrelli. BOTAFOGO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilmar Miranda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Nilmar Miranda succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulão Dionísio made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, BOTAFOGO's Kauan Melo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Miranda in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Nilmar Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Taraborrelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfonso Taraborrelli was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Dionísio in the 61st minute of play forced BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 65 minutes, Kauan Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BOTAFOGO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauan Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. A hard shot 75 in the game by Toninho Madureira from a close distance when the talented Przemyslaw Indyk managed to make a qualified save. Eleven Souls's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, BOTAFOGO's Jaanek Oese got a free kick in the 75th minute. Alfonso Taraborrelli came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Eleven Souls's Nilmar Miranda. But to his dismay, Nilmar Miranda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Erivaldo Loyola's late challenge caught a BOTAFOGO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erivaldo Loyola helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Eleven Souls's Erivaldo Loyola got a free kick in the 94th minute. Eleven Souls's Przemyslaw Indyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Édouard Deloge in the 95th minute of play. Despite being the better team, BOTAFOGO failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
