But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Laurin couldn't finish the play. Ezequiel Laurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Laurin in the 29th minute of play. If Fausto da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute Edgard Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Ponce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SANTA LUZIA's Wilson Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaini Saputra in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joélson Salles got free with Vicente Ponce in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fausto da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Wilson Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Usina de Talentos's Percival Martins was substituted for Gernando de Salles. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Arruda to make the kick off. Sílvio Luís Rosado charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Usina de Talentos's Vicente Ponce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Arruda in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute Charles da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Ponce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vicente Ponce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Passos in the 63rd minute of the match. Rogério Tavares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Esteves having to make a save. If Luiz Guilherme Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Usina de Talentos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zaini Saputra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Usina de Talentos booed when SANTA LUZIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Usina de Talentos's Fausto da Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
