Sidney Soares in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. After having played for 8 minutes, Zé Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araraquara SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Geovanni Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sidney Soares in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christiano Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Christiano Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goiás Esporte Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Geovanni Guerra scored to the left of an out of position Christiano Marques, making the score, 1-0. Celsinho Macedo struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Erivaldo Nogueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goiás Esporte Clube. 31 minutes into the game, Geovanni Guerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christiano Marques. Geovanni Guerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Sidney Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christiano Marques having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Arthur Aguiar got a free kick in the 36th minute. Christiano Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Soares in the 39th minute of play. Celsinho Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Nogueira having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celsinho Macedo to strike the kick off in the second half. Celsinho Macedo in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Erivaldo Nogueira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Christiano Marques came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Araraquara SS's Zé Damião. But to his dismay, Zé Damião quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 63rd minute Celsinho Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovanni Guerra took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christiano Marques. Christiano Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Amadeu Gaspar got a free kick in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Geovanni Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araraquara SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanni Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiano Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the game, Araraquara SS's Abel Trevisan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christiano Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. In the 78th minute Abel Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goiás Esporte Clube's Christiano Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Soares in the 80th minute of play. Zé Damião struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Christiano Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araraquara SS. In the 82nd minute, Zé Damião left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Araraquara SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Amadeu Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, one of Goiás Esporte Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Goiás Esporte Clube. Celsinho Macedo in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Erivaldo Nogueira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Geovanni Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Marques having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Araraquara SS had played much better football throughout.
