Deilmison Chilavert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho das Neves in the 4th minute of play. If Luís de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute, Miguel Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Esperança FC's goalkeeper Fabiano Saldanha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Germano Simão. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho das Neves in the 24th minute of play forced BH Atlético Clube's goalkeeper Deilmison Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deilmison Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís de Moraes in the 27th minute of the match. Esperança FC's Fabiano Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Simão in the 28th minute of play. Deilmison Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabiano Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. BH Atlético Clube's Deilmison Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís de Moraes in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Luís de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deilmison Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Germano Simão got free with Fabiano Saldanha in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute, Filipe de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Andrézinho das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Esperança FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho das Neves couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís de Moraes to make the kick off. Luís de Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Deilmison Chilavert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Adilson de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Deilmison Chilavert made a huge save. 龙伟银 hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Luís de Moraes in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Deilmison Chilavert, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Filipe de Godoi hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Esperança FC's Adilson de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to BH Atlético Clube getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Filipe de Godoi hit a great ball. Adilson de Alcântara was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
