Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Luiz Gustavo Paes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Esporte Club Bahia's Tiago Xavier got a free kick in the 4th minute. Marcelo Lomba stood somewhat misplaced when Dorival Fontes came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 5 minute. 8 minutes into the match, Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Fontes. A nice corner shot did that Tiago Xavier got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arlindo Santos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tiago Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Arlindo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Luiz Gustavo Paes made a precise shot to the right of Arlindo Santos. Martelão FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 21 minutes into the match, Martelão FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo Salles came free, but Arlindo Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arlindo Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Esporte Club Bahia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiago Xavier in the 29th minute. Luiz Gustavo Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Arlindo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Esporte Club Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Passos. Gilberto Quadros charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilberto Quadros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Esporte Club Bahia's Tiago Xavier got a free kick in the 41st minute. Luís Eduardo Salles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arlindo Santos having to make a save. If Tiago Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorival Fontes was the one to do the kick off. Tiago Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorginho Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Tiago Xavier struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Arlindo Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esporte Club Bahia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Fontes in the 57th minute of play forced Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Esporte Club Bahia's Tiago Xavier got a free kick in the 58th minute. Marcelo Lomba came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Martelão FC's Dorival Fontes. But to his dismay, Dorival Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Luís Eduardo Salles succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 72nd playminute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Fontes in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Lomba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dorival Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dorival Fontes struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Marcelo Lomba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Martelão FC. In the 82ndth minute of the game Dorival Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 84 played minutes, Martelão FC's Jorginho Saldanha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Martelão FC reached it. If Luiz Gustavo Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Lomba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorival Fontes's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Dorival Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gilberto Quadros was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. In the 96th match minute, Esporte Club Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Esporte Club Bahia's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Martelão FC had won, even though Esporte Club Bahia had held more of the ball.
