The Geléia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alessandro Vargas should have stopped the shot. Alessandro Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Almeida in the 18th minute of the match. Alisson Becker was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Toninho Mendes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 22 minute of play. Juventudes Libertárias's supporters rose to their feet, but Dino Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alessandro Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edson Braddock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Vargas having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Dino Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventudes Libertárias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
