Landulfos FC's Matheus Vaz was substituted for Andrea Napoleone. After 9 played minutes Chaves do 8 FC got a freekick which was hit by Caetano de Senna. A collision led to Landulfos FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Délio Adam hit a great ball. Flávio de Azevedo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fabricio Quiroga. Pedrão Pereira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Pedrão Pereira struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Júlio Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Landulfos FC. Caetano de Senna hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Júlio Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrão Pereira took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júlio Varela. Júlio Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Anísio Queirós hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the game, Landulfos FC's Pedrão Pereira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Pascual Bertin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flávio de Azevedo having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Bertin in the 36th minute of play forced Landulfos FC's goalkeeper Flávio de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Quiroga struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Flávio de Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chaves do 8 FC. Júlio Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chaves do 8 FC's zone, Matheus Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Varela came out of the goal and Matheus Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flávio de Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Fabricio Quiroga sent off a good shot on target. The Chaves do 8 FC fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Chaves do 8 FC's Pascual Bertin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Landulfos FC's Naldo da Silveira was substituted for Tiaguinho Alagoano. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pascual Bertin made a kick off. After 85 minutes, Herbert Wanders mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chaves do 8 FC and the Landulfos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júlio Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Pereira in the 89th minute of the match. The Landulfos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Landulfos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
