Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Paulo Recife made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Cruz in the 4th minute of play forced Libertadores's goalkeeper Hélio Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Libertadores's Hélio Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Libertadores from getting a goal against them. Generoso Gasteiz kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Erik Cruz's late challenge caught a Libertadores's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. After 15 played minutes Lidice got a freekick which was hit by Erik Cruz. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagoberto da Fonseca during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Libertadores booed when Lidice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zé Carlos Moreno came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Lidice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Carlos Moreno couldn't finish the play. Libertadores's Hélio Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Libertadores from getting a goal against them. Generoso Gasteiz kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Ricardinho Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zé Carlos Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hélio Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Zé Carlos Moreno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hélio Neiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Matos in the 45th minute of play. Alberto Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erik Cruz made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Erik Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lidice's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélio Neiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute, Zé Carlos Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kazimierz Modrzewski kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Erik Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilvan Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Hélio Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lidice's zone, Cauã Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitinho Gaspar came out of the goal and Cauã Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dagoberto da Fonseca was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 77 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardinho Matos got free with Vitinho Gaspar in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Lidice from getting a goal against them. Hélio Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Cruz in the 86th minute of the match. Cauã Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Vitinho Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
