Imperial fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when A.D. Imperial's José Maria Pena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alexander Smith's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitinho Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, José Maria Pena notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar. Vitinho Gaspar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 23rd minute Akis Bouzios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Lidice's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Pena came free, but Vitinho Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Pena in the 28th minute of play. If Akis Bouzios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Pena in the 32nd minute of play. In the 37th minute, José Maria Pena made a precise shot to the right of Vitinho Gaspar. Lidice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After having played for 40 minutes, Alexander Smith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.D. Imperial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Smith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, A.D. Imperial's Clemente Massa got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Akis Bouzios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Gaspar having to interfere. After the first half A.D. Imperial were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Maria Pena was the one to do the kick off. Alexander Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Akis Bouzios in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vitinho Gaspar, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Lidice's Dudu de Amaral got a free kick in the 63rd minute. A.D. Imperial's Durvalino Trevisan was substituted for Róbson Mattos. The supporters of A.D. Imperial booed when Lidice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu de Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Dadá Maravilha managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.D. Imperial's supporters rose to their feet, but Dadá Maravilha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitinho Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vitinho Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Maravilha in the 68th minute of play. The A.D. Imperial fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when A.D. Imperial's Dadá Maravilha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vitinho Gaspar was a little too slow when Dadá Maravilha got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-5. Dadá Maravilha struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Vitinho Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D. Imperial.
