Hortêncio Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Anselmo das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 27 minutes Internazionale's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nelsinho Nóbrega who took care of the corner kick. Nelsinho Nóbrega made a great header on Fúria Futebol Clube's corner, it was just that Internazionale's Anselmo das Neves managed to reach the ball for a save. Júlio Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Pernambucano in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anselmo das Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adalberto Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Júlio Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Pernambucano struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Anselmo das Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fúria Futebol Clube. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Osvaldo Ferreira to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Fúria Futebol Clube's Durval Rossi got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Alberto Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Cristian Pernambucano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo das Neves was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 73rd play minute Adalberto Silveira came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Júlio Porto. 0-2. Internazionale's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adalberto Silveira in the 85th minute. Internazionale's Adalberto Silveira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Júlio Porto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After having played for 88 minutes, Osvaldo Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Internazionale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurinho Cosme during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
