The supporters of Helmet Football Club booed when Almirantes F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiago Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Helmet Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Nico de Salles. 40 minutes into the match, Helmet Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani da Costa came free, but Tiago Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gugu da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Helmet Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gugu da Rocha couldn't finish the play. Nico de Salles hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Hernani da Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiago Dantas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hernani da Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hernani da Costa was the one to do the kick off.
