The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Inácio Figueiredo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tomás Matos. Inácio Figueiredo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Inácio Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jano Jacinto's late challenge caught a S S Palestra Italia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Roberto Moura was the one to do the kick off. Jano Jacinto got his second yellow card in the match during the 51st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid's zone, Inácio Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Matos came out of the goal and Inácio Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
