After 3 minutes of play, Colombo A.C.'s Ricardinho Dantas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ignacio Llinares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lauro Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 7 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ignacio Llinares. GUARULHOS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardinho Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 12 played minutes Colombo A.C. got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Neiva. In the 13th minute, Amadeu de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardinho Dantas might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ignacio Llinares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardinho Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. Ignacio Llinares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Colombo A.C.'s Ricardinho Dantas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ignacio Llinares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 22 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ignacio Llinares. GUARULHOS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardinho Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GUARULHOS FC! Ignacio Llinares had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Lauro Neiva's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 29th minute, Niculae Marioteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th match minute, GUARULHOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Wilton Moura's late challenge caught a Colombo A.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilton Moura helped the player get up and apologised. Ignacio Llinares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michal Burufski went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. 39 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ignacio Llinares. GUARULHOS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardinho Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Colombo A.C.'s Manoel Alagoano managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Amadeu de Andrade in the 43 minute of the game. After the first half Colombo A.C. were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rui Vander to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignacio Llinares having to interfere. Ignacio Llinares was a little too slow when Ricardinho Dantas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-7. In the 61st minute, Colombo A.C.'s Ricardinho Dantas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. Colombo A.C. made a substitution. Aitor Cintron replaced Adrien Caillol. The supporters of Colombo A.C. booed when GUARULHOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Galbarruri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardinho Dantas might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ignacio Llinares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardinho Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the GUARULHOS FC defense, Michal Burufski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ignacio Llinares. The GUARULHOS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ignacio Llinares should have stopped the shot. When Ricardinho Dantas came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Colombo A.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardinho Dantas couldn't finish the play. If Lauro Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Colombo A.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GUARULHOS FC throughout the match.
