Maicon de Moraes scored 0-2 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ignacio Llinares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ignacio Llinares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nestor Fontenelle's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Amílton Talló cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ignacio Llinares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 22 minutes of play, Progresso FC's Yu Chao Gang made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ignacio Llinares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 28th minute, Nestor Fontenelle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Progresso FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. 31 minutes into the match, GUARULHOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Chao Gang came free, but Ignacio Llinares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 32 minutes of play, Progresso FC's Yu Chao Gang made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After some careless play in the GUARULHOS FC defense, Nestor Fontenelle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ignacio Llinares. The GUARULHOS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ignacio Llinares should have stopped the shot. 47 minutes into the match, GUARULHOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Chao Gang came free, but Ignacio Llinares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yu Chao Gang took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ignacio Llinares. Ignacio Llinares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-12. After the first half Progresso FC were leading 0-12. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nestor Fontenelle to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, GUARULHOS FC's Ignacio Llinares got control of the ball when Nestor Fontenelle tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to GUARULHOS FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Dieguinho da Rocha hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedito Sergipano got free with Ignacio Llinares in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the GUARULHOS FC defense, Nestor Fontenelle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ignacio Llinares. Ignacio Llinares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Talló in the 88th minute of the match. After 88 minutes, Alvaro Galbarruri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GUARULHOS FC and the Progresso FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th match minute, GUARULHOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Galbarruri to maneuver through the defense. Progresso FC's Benedito Sergipano shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 89th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ignacio Llinares but with some difficulty. In the 95th minute, Amílton Talló hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
