The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Bebeto Romário notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of E.C CFM's Fabinho de Sousa. Fabinho de Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 12th minute Bebeto Romário shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabinho de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Dário Oliveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E.C CFM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vingadores F.C U23 the free kick. A collision led to E.C CFM getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dário Oliveira hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in E.C CFM's zone, Juliane Álvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabinho de Sousa came out of the goal and Juliane Álvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute of the game Leopoldo Carneiro made a throw-in which Nico Paiva played forward. After 18 played minutes E.C CFM got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Carneiro. In the 19th minute Bebeto Romário shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabinho de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, E.C CFM's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Romário came free, but Fabinho de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, E.C CFM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind E.C CFM's goalkeeper Fabinho de Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the E.C CFM defense, Juliane Álvarez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabinho de Sousa. The E.C CFM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabinho de Sousa should have stopped the shot. 0-3 became the score in the 31st minute when Bebeto Romário elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 35th minute, E.C CFM's Walmir Furlan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juliusz Kaczeniak. Juliusz Kaczeniak yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. E.C CFM's Fabinho de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Romário in the 37th minute of play. When Eduardo Beltran fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vingadores F.C U23's protests and gave Eduardo Beltran a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vingadores F.C U23 getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eduardo Beltran hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Bebeto Romário left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vingadores F.C U23 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. The E.C CFM players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vingadores F.C U23 were winning 1-5.

The crowd rose to their feet as Vingadores F.C U23's Bebeto Romário slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabinho de Sousa. That made the score 1-6 after 51 minutes of play. Vingadores F.C U23 made a substitution. Pavel Nedvěd replaced Zoltán Kocsis. Vingadores F.C U23's Elói Donato was substituted for Bebeto Romário. E.C CFM's Fabinho de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Donato in the 81st minute of play. Fabinho de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Donato in the 86th minute of play. Elói Donato might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabinho de Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elói Donato ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91st match minute, E.C CFM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson Carioca to maneuver through the defense. After 92 played minutes Elói Donato rounded E.C CFM's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-12.
