In the 10th minute Edgar Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tales Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo de Lima in the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Cauã Fantini notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SAS's Edvaldo Brasil. Edvaldo Brasil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tales Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Chapolins's Tales Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Marques in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, SAS's Olívio Marques seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Olívio Marques the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SAS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Olívio Marques had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Edvaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nixon Rodrigues Da Silva in the 27th minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Chapolins got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Gustavo de Lima. In the 34th minute of the match, Edgar Salles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tales Sergipano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 37thth minute of the game Nixon Rodrigues Da Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SAS's Edvaldo Brasil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Chapolins got a corner. SAS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cauã Fantini ran over to the corner to take the kick. SAS's Edvaldo Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauã Fantini in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute of the match, Agostinho Carneiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tales Sergipano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Chapolins's Tales Sergipano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Chapolins from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cauã Fantini made a kick off. Cauã Fantini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvaldo Brasil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by SAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cauã Fantini was slow to take the kick. During this time Chapolins's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Cauã Fantini got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edvaldo Brasil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 55 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Cauã Fantini came free, but Edvaldo Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvaldo Brasil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dito Hoffmann in the 57th minute. Tales Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute of the match, Dito Hoffmann got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edvaldo Brasil was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edgar Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tales Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Carneiro in the 65th minute of play. Júlio Saraiva struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Tales Sergipano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAS. In the 74th match minute, Chapolins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Falcão to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovanni Trevisan during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 played minutes Chapolins got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Trevisan. When Nixon Rodrigues Da Silva fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapolins's protests and gave Nixon Rodrigues Da Silva a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Chapolins's zone, Júlio Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tales Sergipano came out of the goal and Júlio Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Glauco Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. SAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Glauco Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tales Sergipano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 94 minutes into the game, SAS's Edgar Salles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tales Sergipano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Despite being the better team, SAS failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
