An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Carvalho in the 6th minute of play forced Vascão de Guarapari ES's goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tião Custódio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute Víktor Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Juninho Velasco managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Vascão de Guarapari ES's Reynaldo Freitas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Guaicurus SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Giovani Urbano was slow to take the kick. During this time Vascão de Guarapari ES's players had a chance to rest. Ciro Loyola was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The supporters of Vascão de Guarapari ES booed when Guaicurus SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Guaicurus SC's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Luz came free, but Juninho Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean do Nascimento got free with Juninho Velasco in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juninho Velasco acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 32nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Giovani Urbano. Guaicurus SC's Juninho Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laerte Luz in the 34th minute of play. Reynaldo Freitas had several of the Guaicurus SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 37 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Juninho Velasco as he didn't even see the shot coming. 41 minutes into the game, Giovani Urbano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Juninho Velasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Juninho Velasco made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Reynaldo Freitas sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Laerte Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juninho Velasco was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. In the 46th minute, Júlio de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Víktor Leme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, one of Vascão de Guarapari ES:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vascão de Guarapari ES:s Ricardinho Aguiar showed great skill when he stopped Mazinho Peres:s penalty. Guaicurus SC's Juninho Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean do Nascimento in the 54th minute of play. Juninho Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Urbano in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vascão de Guarapari ES's Jean do Nascimento got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 68th minute, Víktor Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tião Custódio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Aguiar having to interfere. Ricardinho Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Fernando Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the match, Guaicurus SC's Fernando Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardinho Aguiar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, Jean do Nascimento notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Guaicurus SC's Juninho Velasco. Juninho Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Giovani Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 89 played minutes Guaicurus SC got a freekick which was hit by Júlio de Almeida. After 94 minutes of play, Vascão de Guarapari ES's Giovani Urbano made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juninho Velasco was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Douglas Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Vascão de Guarapari ES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Vascão de Guarapari ES walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
