The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Vascão de Guarapari ES's goal looked a bit too open when Doni Barbosa came free, but Ricardinho Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Vascão de Guarapari ES booed when Limoeiro-PE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reynaldo Freitas got free with Daniël De Goeij in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Doni Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ricardinho Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Limoeiro-PE FC's Gino do Valle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardinho Aguiar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ricardinho Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doni Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Douglas Ortiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Vascão de Guarapari ES defense, Gino do Valle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardinho Aguiar. The Vascão de Guarapari ES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardinho Aguiar should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doni Barbosa in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardinho Aguiar saved Vascão de Guarapari ES from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Barbosa in the 41st minute of play forced Vascão de Guarapari ES's goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Limoeiro-PE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Luz came free, but Daniël De Goeij reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Luz in the 44th minute of play forced Limoeiro-PE FC's goalkeeper Daniël De Goeij to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reynaldo Freitas to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Doni Barbosa took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Ricardinho Aguiar to make any attempt to save it. Luís Fabiano Fontes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Limoeiro-PE FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Freitas in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Barbosa in the 63rd minute of play forced Vascão de Guarapari ES's goalkeeper Ricardinho Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doni Barbosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Ricardinho Aguiar made a huge save. Tomás Cabral hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Ricardinho Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Luís Fabiano Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limoeiro-PE FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fabiano Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardinho Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Limoeiro-PE FC made a substitution. Robert Lozovan replaced Gino do Valle. Richard Neto took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardinho Aguiar. Ricardinho Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Ricardinho Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Neto in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Luz in the 93rd minute of play forced Limoeiro-PE FC's goalkeeper Daniël De Goeij to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willian Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Limoeiro-PE FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
