FENIX FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BURITIS FC the free kick. After 4 played minutes FENIX FC got a freekick which was hit by Vito Bertassi. Gustavo Unai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Alves in the 7th minute of the match. Rubens Reis scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommie van Asseldonk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gustavo Unai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Bertassi in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to FENIX FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Vito Bertassi hit a great ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Rubens Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BURITIS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubens Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dênis Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Madureira in the 40th minute of play forced BURITIS FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Unai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommie van Asseldonk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubens Reis in the 43rd minute. Dráusio Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Alves in the 48th minute of play forced BURITIS FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Unai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Rubens Reis made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Vito Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dráusio Madureira might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Unai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dráusio Madureira ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to FENIX FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Vito Bertassi hit a great ball. BURITIS FC's Gustavo Unai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Alves in the 62nd minute of play. Gustavo Unai made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Dráusio Madureira sent off a good shot on target. Gustavo Unai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dráusio Madureira in the 67th minute. Edson Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes of play FENIX FC's Vito Bertassi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to FENIX FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Vito Bertassi hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Severino Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. FENIX FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Unai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in BURITIS FC's zone, Severino Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Unai came out of the goal and Severino Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
