Itapiciru EC's Válbson Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Cunha in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Vítor Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nico Hoffmann hit a great ball. After the first half Atlético Cristo Rei were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

57 minutes into the match, Vítor Netto notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Itapiciru EC's Válbson Rossi. Válbson Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st match minute, Itapiciru EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Pinho to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Atlético Cristo Rei's Nilson Meireles to fire away a dangerous shot which Válbson Rossi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 66 minutes of play, Itapiciru EC's André Luiz Reis made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredão Bueno was left in no man's land by his defense there! He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, Itapiciru EC's Luiz Fabiano Meireles got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute, Pedrão Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felippe Sena hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The Atlético Cristo Rei supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atlético Cristo Rei would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
