Fritz Ernst Joinvilense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Álvaro Porto having to make a save. When Válter Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Freire FC's protests and gave Válter Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Freire FC's Válter Loureiro got a free kick in the 11th minute. Botafogo AP's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ademir de Almeida in the 14th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Angelo Laurin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Freire FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo AP the free kick. In the 20th minute, Angelo Laurin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Váldson de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Álvaro Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wiliam Couto in the 29th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Fritz Ernst Joinvilense notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Freire FC's Álvaro Porto. Álvaro Porto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Álvaro Porto came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo AP's Wiliam Couto. But to his dismay, Wiliam Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Guaberto Lavet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. José Pedro Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute Guaberto Lavet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fritz Ernst Joinvilense to strike the kick off in the second half. Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edison Murillo in the 55th minute of play. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Álvaro Porto managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Botafogo AP's Fritz Ernst Joinvilense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Álvaro Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fritz Ernst Joinvilense in the 63rd minute of the match. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense ran back to his position shaking his head. Álvaro Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fritz Ernst Joinvilense in the 66th minute of play. With his leg Álvaro Porto managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Botafogo AP's Fritz Ernst Joinvilense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Edison Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinaldo Kellogg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Porto having to interfere. Botafogo AP's Carlos Eduardo Furlan was substituted for Fritz Ernst Joinvilense. In the 88th minute, Váldson de Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Carlos Eduardo Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Eduardo Furlans short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Álvaro Porto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Botafogo AP players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
