Felippe Sena was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético Cristo Rei's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 21 minutes, Reynaldo Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Freire FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Pontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Vítor Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Álvaro Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guaberto Lavet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Jardim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Pontes in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 minutes, Váldson de Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Freire FC and the Atlético Cristo Rei players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Freire FC got a freekick which was hit by Váldson de Medeiros. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Edison Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Freire FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edison Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Jardim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 59th minute, Guaberto Lavet made a precise shot to the right of Leo Jardim. Atlético Cristo Rei's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Vítor Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Porto having to interfere. Vítor Netto hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Atlético Cristo Rei's Leo Jardim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Cristo Rei from getting a goal against them. Leo Jardim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson de Medeiros in the 92nd minute of the match. Leo Jardim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guaberto Lavet's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. After 95th play minutes Guaberto Lavet shot 0-5, a short shot which went by Leo Jardim and just under the crossbar into goal. When the match was over Freire FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Cristo Rei throughout the match.
