Amílton Proença acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cipriano Luz. Raúl Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Proença having to interfere. Amílton Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Celsinho de Queirós made the kick off in the second half. Vicente Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vicente Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilson de Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cesinha Ferreira having to make a save.
