The crowd rose to their feet as Eda Roots's Luiz Fábio Moreno slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dida Mazzola. That made the score 1-1 after 11 minutes of play. Ronaldão Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldão Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herminio Izel went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Marcelinho Antunes made in the 21st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Benjamin Eger however managed to control. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Emerson Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. SPFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronaldão Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agnaldo Santos went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 32 minutes, Benjamin Eger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eda Roots and the SPFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamin Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Ronaldão Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Sena in the 34th minute of the match. When SPFC's Herminio Izel in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Eda Roots's goalie prevented a goal. SPFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agnaldo Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute Emerson Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Moreno in the 45th minute of play forced SPFC's goalkeeper Dida Mazzola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herminio Izel made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Eda Roots's goalkeeper Ronaldão Arósio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emerson Sena. 55 minutes into the match, Eda Roots's goal looked a bit too open when Agnaldo Santos came free, but Ronaldão Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emerson Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Arósio having to interfere. The supporters of SPFC booed when Eda Roots was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herminio Izel did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Ronaldão Arósio 59 minutes into the match. Claudinei Barbosa made in the 65th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SPFC's Chicão Motta. 66 minutes into the match, Eda Roots's goalkeeper Ronaldão Arósio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emerson Sena. Ronaldão Arósio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emerson Sena in the 66th minute. Dida Mazzola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Manuelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Herminio Izel made a precise shot to the right of Ronaldão Arósio. Eda Roots's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. In the 72nd minute, SPFC's Herminio Izel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Herminio Izel did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-7 to the left of a surprised Ronaldão Arósio 75 minutes into the match. Herminio Izel had several of the Eda Roots's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 78 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-8 score and a disappointed Ronaldão Arósio as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 81st minute, Gildo Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudinei Barbosa made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Benjamin Eger. 85 minutes into the game, Herminio Izel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronaldão Arósio. Herminio Izel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-9. Emerson Sena took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldão Arósio. Ronaldão Arósio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-10.
