Fenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmo Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Duda Saraiva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reynaldo Souza. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Duda Saraiva sped through Rapid SA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reynaldo Souza. Acácio Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The supporters of Fenix booed when Rapid SA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 20 in the game by Duda Saraiva from a close distance when the talented Reynaldo Souza managed to make a qualified save. Rapid SA's players were relieved. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Duda Saraiva put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Reynaldo Souza. Thomás Kroos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dalmo Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Duda Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Duda Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute, Pedro Luiz Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duda Saraiva was the one to do the kick off. Acácio Guimarães came out of the goal and Rômulo Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Pedro Luiz Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luiz Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The shot was a little too simple and Acácio Guimarães could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Rapid SA's zone, Alexsandro Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Souza came out of the goal and Alexsandro Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rapid SA's Eliézer de Senna was substituted for Rômulo Carvalho. In the 81st match minute, Rapid SA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Saraiva in the 83rd minute of play forced Rapid SA's goalkeeper Reynaldo Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalmo Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Reynaldo Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Fenix fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Fenix's Duda Saraiva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Reynaldo Souza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duda Saraiva's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Fenix's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
