It was a well-played corner which Iwan Poling managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Inter de Plataforma FC.'s Remi Rassen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Reynaldo Souza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Vlajko Marotić could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Hernani Zonta made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Remi Rassen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Souza was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Rapid SA's zone, Remi Rassen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Souza came out of the goal and Remi Rassen tried to chip the ball over his head. Rapid SA's Reynaldo Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remi Rassen in the 39th minute of play. Remi Rassen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the game, Iwan Poling cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Reynaldo Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remi Rassen was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Rapid SA's Claudinho Cearense got a free kick in the 54th minute. Rapid SA's Faouzi Fergani was substituted for Víktor Barros. Iwan Poling did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-7 to the left of a surprised Reynaldo Souza 63 minutes into the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reynaldo Souza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 67 minutes into the match, Rapid SA's goalkeeper Reynaldo Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdir de Moraes. Hernani Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rômulo Carvalho in the 68th minute of play. Valdir de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rapid SA's Reynaldo Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Rapid SA from getting a goal against them. Remi Rassen had several of the Rapid SA's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 79 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-8 score and a disappointed Reynaldo Souza as he didn't even see the shot coming. Hernani Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliézer de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the match, Rapid SA's goal looked a bit too open when Remi Rassen came free, but Reynaldo Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inter de Plataforma FC.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
