Cupia's Luís Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliot Lind in the 15th minute of play. Luís Prata came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by IPANEMA FC's Cristián Montes. But to his dismay, Cristián Montes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luís Prata didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristián Montes went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luís Prata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristián Montes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Elliot Lind had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Prata. Cupia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elliot Lind was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 31st match minute, IPANEMA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Hoppe to maneuver through the defense. When Pedro Augusto Marques came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Cupia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Augusto Marques couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Elliot Lind's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Prata was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. In the 39th minute Hudson Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, IPANEMA FC's Erasmo Botelho got a free kick in the 40th minute. A collision led to Cupia getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Charles Coelho hit a great ball. Luís Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elliot Lind, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The Cupia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. IPANEMA FC were winning 0-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Augusto Marques was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of IPANEMA FC booed when Cupia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elliot Lind came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luís Prata could save by the left post. If Pedro Augusto de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Elliot Lind had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Prata. In the 66th minute, Cristián Montes made a precise shot to the right of Luís Prata. Cupia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Damian Hoppe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. After 74 played minutes IPANEMA FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Augusto de Toledo. The supporters of Cupia booed when IPANEMA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Cupia's Aloísio Pena got a free kick in the 80th minute. 84 minutes into the game, Cristián Montes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luís Prata. After 91 minutes of play, IPANEMA FC's Elliot Lind made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Prata was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 96th minute Cristián Montes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cupia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. IPANEMA FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
