Clube Atlético Paraense's José Novaes managed to work through Afligidos's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tarcisio Pimenta to make the kick off. After 85 minutes, Régis Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Afligidos and the Clube Atlético Paraense players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th minute, Valdemar Lima sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Afligidos's Paulão Breckenfeld didn't even have to move. Enio Velloso's late challenge caught a Afligidos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enio Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Clube Atlético Paraense getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Enio Velloso hit a great ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Clube Atlético Paraense had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
