Dário Travassos struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Gil Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Afligidos. When Suárez Rado came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Guaecá MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Suárez Rado couldn't finish the play. After 16 minutes, Oséias Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Afligidos and the Guaecá MZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oséias Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Marcinho Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Oséias Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Afligidos's supporters rose to their feet, but Oséias Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Suárez Rado in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulão Breckenfeld, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Alberto Araújo during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 37 minutes, Christian Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaecá MZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Suárez Rado did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Paulão Breckenfeld 48 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Suárez Rado was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Afligidos got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Santana. Christian Zanette kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Aguiar was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Afligidos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Christian Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guaecá MZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Breckenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guaecá MZ's Dráuzio Montenegro was substituted for Christian Zanette. Paulão Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Montenegro in the 64th minute of the match. In the 70th match minute, Afligidos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Secco to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute of the match Guaecá MZ got a corner. Afligidos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonel Perez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Leonel Perez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paulão Breckenfeld quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Zé Roberto Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Suárez Rado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Zé Roberto Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Afligidos's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Roberto Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulão Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Suárez Rado, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Károly Tóth made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Afligidos's Vladimir Santana. The audience was convinced that Suárez Rado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulão Breckenfeld was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Gil Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Aguiar in the 98th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Afligidos players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guaecá MZ.
