Spectators: 7740 (Terracing: 5806, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fernandinho Furtado started the match with the kick off. Edmund Michna's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ernesto Vargas firmly grabbed it by the left post. Erasto Fontecilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Salles in the 20th minute of the match. Ernesto Vargas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernandinho Furtado went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 25 minutes into the match, Sydney Queiroz notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cidade Nova's Erasto Fontecilla. Erasto Fontecilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ernesto Vargas was a little too slow when Nilmar Paraense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 4-1. Samuel Bastos hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Ernesto Vargas made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Zeca Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernandinho Furtado in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Vargas saved NEGRITUDE FC from getting behind. The supporters of Cidade Nova booed when NEGRITUDE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisão Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ezequiel Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Ernesto Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cidade Nova. 44 minutes into the match, NEGRITUDE FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Vargas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmund Michna. In the 46th minute Fernandinho Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Salles to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Cidade Nova's Nilmar Paraense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernesto Vargas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 6-1 became the score in the 54th minute when Fernandinho Furtado elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 57 minutes into the game, Cidade Nova's Edmund Michna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernesto Vargas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. Cidade Nova's Tiger Wakefield was substituted for Zeca Schmidt. Ernesto Vargas came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Cidade Nova's Edmund Michna. But to his dismay, Edmund Michna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-1. Ernesto Vargas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmund Michna went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-1 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute, Ovidio Urbez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute, Romeu Carioca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cidade Nova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-1. 82 minutes into the match, Edmund Michna notched a goal, 13-1, to the right of NEGRITUDE FC's Ernesto Vargas. Ernesto Vargas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 85th minute Romeu Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmund Michna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ernesto Vargas having to make a save. Ernesto Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu Carioca in the 88th minute of play. After some careless play in the NEGRITUDE FC defense, Edmund Michna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Vargas. The NEGRITUDE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Vargas should have stopped the shot. In the 94th match minute, Cidade Nova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clóvis Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Cidade Nova walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
