After 19 minutes of play, SeleSantos FC's Leif Törnqvist made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when SE Tigre Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. SeleSantos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leif Törnqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinícius Mazza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Niilo Mikkola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute.
