Duda Catarinense came out of the goal and Filiph Biörling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grêmio FBPA were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after 100 Noção FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alberto Estevon took the corner. Grêmio FBPA's Alberto Estevon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Duda Catarinense in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 18 minutes, Moisés Matorin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 100 Noção FC and the Grêmio FBPA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when 100 Noção FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, 100 Noção FC's goalkeeper Duda Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipis Karapatakis. Pipis Karapatakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Duda Catarinense made a huge save. After a rather tough play, 100 Noção FC's Leonel Sanches got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 28 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Filiph Biörling. Jardel Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldão Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, 100 Noção FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Karapatakis came free, but Duda Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Pipis Karapatakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duda Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonel Sanches was the one to do the kick off. Duda Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pipis Karapatakis went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duda Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The coaching staff of Grêmio FBPA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Diamantino Cabral had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 86 minutes into the game, one of Grêmio FBPA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jardel Sanches came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by 100 Noção FC's Lucas Urbano. But to his dismay, Lucas Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Ted Hoogenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duda Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 98th minute of play. After having played for 99 minutes, Pipis Karapatakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio FBPA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pipis Karapatakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grêmio FBPA walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
