Percival Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filiph Biörling in the 6th minute of play. José Pedro Simão charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Pedro Simão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Percival Prestes. Percival Prestes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Percival Prestes made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Pipis Karapatakis sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th match minute, REAL VASCO RIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Simão to maneuver through the defense. REAL VASCO RIO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Pipis Karapatakis scored to the left of an out of position Percival Prestes, making the score, 2-0. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 21st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pipis Karapatakis in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Percival Prestes saved REAL VASCO RIO from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Percival Prestes. Percival Prestes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 32nd minute Pedrão Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grêmio FBPA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. José Pedro Simão was slow to take the kick. During this time REAL VASCO RIO's players had a chance to rest. REAL VASCO RIO were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Grêmio FBPA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. José Pedro Simão took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Horácio Damião heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Pipis Karapatakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percival Prestes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save REAL VASCO RIO from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in REAL VASCO RIO's zone, Filiph Biörling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Prestes came out of the goal and Filiph Biörling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute Pipis Karapatakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Pedrão Souza made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 52nd minute of play forced REAL VASCO RIO's goalkeeper Percival Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 55th minute of play. Pipis Karapatakis might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percival Prestes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pipis Karapatakis ran back to his position shaking his head. Percival Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pipis Karapatakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 61st minute of play forced REAL VASCO RIO's goalkeeper Percival Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percival Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pipis Karapatakis went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 67th minute of play. Pipis Karapatakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Percival Prestes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Darío Pereyra got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Darío Pereyra hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Pedrão Souza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jardel Sanches. The goal made the score 5-1. 89 minutes into the match, REAL VASCO RIO's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Karapatakis came free, but Percival Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Pipis Karapatakis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio FBPA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Grêmio FBPA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of REAL VASCO RIO for a fine match.
