Zé Roberto Maia hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Receba Futebol Clube's zone, Marcel Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Tavares came out of the goal and Marcel Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar de Moraes in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute Valdemar de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 minutes Receba Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcel Pinho who took care of the corner kick. The referee gave Papunhas EC a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marcel Pinho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Receba Futebol Clube's Evaristo Tavares. 0-1. After 22 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Peres. In the 30th minute, Gildo Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Receba Futebol Clube's Evaristo Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar de Moraes in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Antônio Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo Tavares came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Papunhas EC's Valdemar de Moraes. But to his dismay, Valdemar de Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Evaristo Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evaristo Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdemar de Moraes's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, Valdemar de Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evaristo Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. In the 46th minute of the match Fabrício Carneiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evaristo Tavares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Receba Futebol Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Papunhas EC were winning 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antônio Faria to make the kick off. Receba Futebol Clube's Evaristo Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save Receba Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. After 56 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Valério Linhares. In the 58th match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valério Linhares to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Evaristo Tavares made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Christian Baiano sent off a good shot on target. Receba Futebol Clube's Evaristo Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar de Moraes in the 65th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Baiano got free with Evaristo Tavares in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Christian Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Baiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Evaristo Tavares made a huge save. Christian Baiano in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Evaristo Tavares, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 81 minutes into the match, Receba Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar de Moraes came free, but Evaristo Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Papunhas EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
