The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Porfirio Harvey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dé Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Váldson Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicholas Ellis in the 8th minute of the match. Silvinho Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Porfirio Harvey having to interfere. In the 12th minute Nando Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Porfirio Harvey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes A. E. Vile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rodolfo Aparecido who took care of the corner kick. Porfirio Harvey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dé Sampaio's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Váldson Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guto Sampaio in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute of the match, Nicholas Ellis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Váldson Montenegro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 28 minutes A. E. Vile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rodolfo Aparecido who took care of the corner kick. Leocadio Ledo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Porfirio Harvey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvinho Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dé Sampaio scored 0-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Porfirio Harvey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 48 minutes into the game, A. E. Vile's Dé Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Porfirio Harvey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Guto Sampaio made the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fábio Xavier's late challenge caught a Real Ducks Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fábio Xavier helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, A. E. Vile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Xavier to maneuver through the defense. Guto Sampaio's late challenge caught a A. E. Vile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rodolfo Aparecido ran over to the corner to take the kick. Porfirio Harvey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvinho Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to A. E. Vile getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Cléber de Carvalho hit a great ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Dé Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A. E. Vile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dé Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, A. E. Vile's Cléber de Carvalho got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute Dé Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Porfirio Harvey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giuseppe Meirelles during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
