In the 11th match minute, Mazela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Esteves to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, LaCity's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Queiroz came free, but Décio Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Décio Tróia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Terkel Bavnholt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 20 minute of play. Edgar de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Bogdan Chazen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Mazela booed when LaCity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bogdan Chazen came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by LaCity's Edgar de Lara. But to his dismay, Edgar de Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Bogdan Chazen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Bogdan Chazen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar de Lara in the 36th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Terkel Bavnholt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Hílton Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bogdan Chazen didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 54th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Mazela's zone, Edgar de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Chazen came out of the goal and Edgar de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgar de Lara got free with Bogdan Chazen in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. LaCity's Hermínio Siqueira was substituted for Hílton Amaral. In the 72nd minute of the game Donato Paglione made a throw-in which Douglas Esteves played forward. Anselmo Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Chazen having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Edgar de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. LaCity's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bogdan Chazen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mazela's Gonçalo Marinho was substituted for Donato Paglione. After a rather tough play, LaCity's Cacá Barros got a free kick in the 78th minute. Terkel Bavnholt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to LaCity getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Cacá Barros hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Paraibano in the 95th minute of play forced Mazela's goalkeeper Bogdan Chazen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LaCity played a much better game than Mazela and deserved their victory. The Mazela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
