If Adilson Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bahia City's Keilor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Dejonckheere in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Adilson Novaes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bahia City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Miguel Santos hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Adilson Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bahia City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adilson Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Chaves might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Dallris. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Chaves ran back to his position shaking his head. Keilor Navas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Dejonckheere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Mixto Esporte Clube defense, Adilson Novaes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Dallris. The Mixto Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Dallris should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerry Dejonckheere to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Geovani Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 53 in the game by Jerry Dejonckheere from a close distance when the talented Keilor Navas managed to make a qualified save. Bahia City's players were relieved. Keilor Navas made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Jerry Dejonckheere sent off a good shot on target. Jerry Dejonckheere who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Keilor Navas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mixto Esporte Clube's Jerry Dejonckheere was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 67 minutes Mixto Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adilson Novaes who took care of the corner kick. Adilson Novaes made a great header on Bahia City's corner, it was just that Mixto Esporte Clube's Rafael Dallris managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerry Dejonckheere in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keilor Navas saved Bahia City from getting behind. A collision led to Bahia City getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Noel Miranda hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the game, Iuri Mattos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bahia City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mixto Esporte Clube the free kick. When Jerry Dejonckheere came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Mixto Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerry Dejonckheere couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute Costin Colin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keilor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bahia City! Jerry Dejonckheere in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Keilor Navas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rafael Dallris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bahia City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mixto Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
