The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Clube Esportivo Aimoré's goal looked a bit too open when Gernando Proença came free, but Waldir Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Clube Esportivo Aimoré getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Washington dos Santos hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the game, Radu Podgoreanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Waldir Seco. Radu Podgoreanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Clube Esportivo Aimoré's goal looked a bit too open when Radu Podgoreanu came free, but Waldir Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes, Åke Sundberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Esportivo Aimoré and the Danone CC players grew even worse after the yellow card. During the 46th minute of the match Åke Sundberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Åke Sundberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Åke Sundberg hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Danone CC's Dário Mesquita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. Danone CC's Ademir Aparecido was substituted for Oséas Chaves.

When Washington dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Clube Esportivo Aimoré fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Washington dos Santos couldn't finish the play. After 66 minutes of play, Danone CC's Gernando Proença made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldir Seco was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77thth minute of the game Gernando Proença who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Esportivo Aimoré's Waldir Seco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Washington dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Danone CC's Enéas Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldir Seco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-2. Danone CC made a substitution. Fausto Senna replaced Enéas Carneiro. In the 85th minute, Albert Vulpe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldir Seco was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-2. Danone CC's Mané Novaes was substituted for Albert Vulpe. In the 90th match minute, Danone CC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Toledo to maneuver through the defense. Waldir Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Mesquita in the 92nd minute of play. Samuel McQuarrie took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Waldir Seco. Clube Esportivo Aimoré's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gernando Proença's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Seco was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. In the 98th minute Fausto Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
