The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Wilian de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Lobzeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Santana to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 6 minutes, Giovanni Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JotaPaTos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovanni Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edu Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonçalo de Azevedo in the 9th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giovanni Xavier got free with Kaká Porto in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Tróia in the 13th minute of play forced Lobzeiro's goalkeeper Kaká Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Lobzeiro getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Gonçalo de Azevedo hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Hudson Veiga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kaká Porto skillfully saved the ball. In the 17th minute, Guga Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JotaPaTos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some careless play in the Lobzeiro defense, Guga Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kaká Porto. The Lobzeiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kaká Porto should have stopped the shot. Kaká Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Seco in the 24th minute of the match. Kaká Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the game, Guga Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Kaká Porto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 35th minute, JotaPaTos's Guga Seco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kaká Porto. Kaká Porto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. 40 minutes into the match, Guga Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaká Porto. Lobzeiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guga Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Dé Varela was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. In the 47th match minute, Lobzeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dé Varela to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Xavier took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kaká Porto. Lobzeiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilian de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Lobzeiro getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Wilian de Souza hit a great ball. Kaká Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovanni Xavier during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lobzeiro booed when JotaPaTos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Lobzeiro's Wilian de Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edu Motta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to JotaPaTos getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Hudson Veiga hit a great ball. If Guga Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wilian de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilian de Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Betinho Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The JotaPaTos fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lobzeiro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
