Ramiro do Nascimento made in the 11th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lady Newton's Bernardo Mineiro. 13 minutes into the match, João Francisco Novaes notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Lady Newton's Rodriguinho de Sena. Rodriguinho de Sena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. João Francisco Novaes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Rodriguinho de Sena made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as João Francisco Novaes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rodriguinho de Sena. Lady Newton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulista Futebol Clube the free kick.
