BARBARIDADE G.M.'s Genílson Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save BARBARIDADE G.M. from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the match, FC Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Moreno came free, but Lúcio Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tiburcio Iago came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the FC Schalke 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiburcio Iago couldn't finish the play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
